AI Roleplay Reviews is a review and research publication built by people who actually use AI roleplay products, a team of content creators, programmers, and longtime AI roleplay enthusiasts who wanted better information to exist for this community than marketing pages and drive-by listicles.
Our Story
This started with one of us signing up for an AI roleplay platform in late 2024, mostly out of curiosity. Since then the category has changed dramatically: models got smarter, memory got longer, character creation exploded, and dozens of new platforms appeared (and some disappeared just as fast). Keeping up with all of that became a hobby, then a habit, then a team. Today we combine our perspectives that this space badly needs together in one place.
What We Publish
Tutorials. Practical guides for getting more out of AI roleplay from writing better character cards and prompts to understanding settings, memory, and platform-specific tricks.
Product reviews. Firsthand, hands-on reviews of AI roleplay platforms. We create the accounts, run real scenarios, test the free tiers against the paid plans, and report what actually happens, including the paywalls, limits, and rough edges.
Research. The AI roleplay space moves fast and is poorly documented. We dig into how the products work, how the industry is developing, and what’s changing.
The Leaderboard. A running, regularly updated ranking of AI roleplay platforms based on our testing, so you can see at a glance how the major players compare and how the field shifts over time.

Editorial Independence
Let’s be upfront about how the site is funded, because most sites in this space aren’t. We seek affiliate marketing partnerships and sponsorships from AI entertainment companies. That revenue is what pays for our test subscriptions and keeps the site running. But there is a hard line we do not cross:
No company can buy a review, a ranking, or a leaderboard position. Our verdicts are based on our own testing, and we never change a review, score, or conclusion for a partner. Where an affiliate relationship or sponsorship exists with a platform we cover, we disclose it on the page. If a sponsored platform performs badly in our testing, we say so.
